The BlazeFire Investigation Mission

Blaze Fire Investigation provides complete fire and explosion investigative services while maintaining the highest degree of integrity and ethical standards. This is done by education, discipline and pursuing the truth through scientific analysis.

Our History

Blaze Fire Investigation was founded in 1992 by Senior Fire Investigator, Robert Leonard, in Dousman, Wisconsin.  With the help of its valued clients, Blaze Fire Investigation developed into a highly regarded business - earning a name for excellence in customer service.

In the mid-1990’s, an accelerant detection dog joined the Blaze team.  Blaze Fire Investigation was the first privately held fire investigation firm in Wisconsin to acquire the services of an accelerant detection dog.  Appropriately, the dog was named “Blaze”.  Blaze retired in 2001 after helping out on over 170 fires during her career.

In 2008, Blaze Fire Investigation celebrated its 15th year in business, having investigated its 1000th fire.  Blaze Fire Investigation was acquired by Anderson Engineering of New Prague, Inc. in 2011 and expanded its operations into Illinois.  Fire investigation services have always been closely linked with forensic electrical engineering services and Anderson Engineering saw this acquisition as a way to provide clients with a “one-stop shop.”

Throughout 2012, Blaze Fire Investigation continued to expand its operations into Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan.  And with the opening of Anderson Engineering’s Louisville, Kentucky office, beginning in March 2013, Blaze is now offering fire investigative services in that market as well.

Today, Blaze Fire Investigation has 5 investigators.  Bob Leonard remains semi-active with Blaze.  He regularly consults on various fires and does case file reviews.  Now lead by Anderson Engineering’s President, Erik Anderson, P.E., C.F.E.I., Blaze continues to provide its clients with comprehensive and scientific fire investigation services.
